The OS 500 sensor collects scattered light measurement data, controlled by a PC via a USB interface.
The OS 500 SW software is configured for process monitoring and, in conjunction with a SQL data base, permits visualisation of measurement date and monitoring of limits. Traffic light functionality!
At up to 2,000 measurements per second, the OS 500 is the absolutely fastest roughness sensor on the market. A single one of its measurements corresponds to a complete roughness measurement by a profilometer taking at least several seconds.
The overwhelming advantage of the OS 500 is its insensitivity to vibration and water spray, such that it can be installed into the environment of a machine tool. Another remarkable point is its ability to measure roundness and waviness as well as roughness.
